SAMU
The Tour Alsace is helped by the hospital "Centre Hospitalier de Mulhouse" and by the SAMU – SMUR – Emergency. Dr Bruno GOULESQUE ensures medical liability. Every day, a team of emergency physicians take place in the head and the tail of the caravan. They have a first-aid and resuscitation equipment and can be used in real time, through the Center for Regulation and Receive Calls from UAS 68 Center 5. Secondly, under regulation, they have private ambulances located in the caravan. The means used are significant: 2 gigs of early intervention with on board 1 doctor and 1 nurse, SMUR Mulhouse PC Command, 2 orthopedic surgeons and 1 dentitst on call, 3 physiotherapists: (2 each morning and evening permanently available in cyclists hotels), 2 private ambulances and the helicopter SMUR repatriated to Mulhouse on the mountain stage (progression of the race is directly connected with hospitals in the area).
GENDARMERIE
Twenty policemen of "Escadron Départemental de Sécurité Routière du Haut-Rhin", commanded by Captain William CHANUDET and Lieutenant Patrick BRONGNIART ensure the safety of riders on the course. This assistance is valuable and not many races have the chance to have it.
VOLUNTEERS
Every day, nearly 100 volunteers equipped secure the intersections. These volunteers fulfill an important mission because their presence is absolutely essential to the smooth running of the race!
Most volunteers have trained a few hours helped by the training center ELITE68 and gendarmerie. Each year the organizing team is looking for new volunteers: tell your friends and your family!
